Pippi was orginally in another "Rescue." She had a litter of puppies while in that "Rescue." We tried to get the "Rescue" to turn her over to us for about a year, but they felt they could place her and wouldn't release her to us.

When she was diagnosed with heartworm they decided they would turn her over to us. When she was picked up, the Rescue informed the person that picked her up that she was in heat and may have been bred earlier that day. Despite having heartworms, it was decided to spay her before treatment because if she had been bred, she would likely have serious problems due to the heartworms.

Pippi came through the spay and was treated for the heartworms successfully as well.
